Navarro had difficulty conferring with the National Bureau of
Investigation (NBI), as he had just undergone a five-hour nose operation
on Monday night.
The "It's Showtime" mainstay was assisted by his legal counsel, Atty.
Alma Mallonga, and manager, director Chito Rono, in signing the
six-page statement on his hospital bed at around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
Speaking to radio DZMM, Taguig police chief Senior Superintendent
Felix Asis said the police will investigate allegations that Navarro
allegedly tried to rape model Deniece Cornejo in her condo unit before
the attempt was foiled by Cedric Lee and another male friend.
Navarro has denied the allegations, saying that Lee and 6 other men beat him up and tried to extort P1 million from him.
He denied that he had intentions of raping Cornejo.
The camp of Navarro filed cases against Lee's group for serious
physical injuries, illegal detention, grave threats, unlawful arrest ,
grave coercion and blackmail.
